'We all come from the water'. 'Flood' is part of Tessel's vulva series. 
 
Her vulva series includes colourful variations of vulva paintings; abstract interpretations of the female body, ambiguously depicted as oysters, flowers, sandy landscapes under water, or even as sand and soil. 
 
This project started for Tessel in 2022 as she wanted to paint and connect to a part of the human body, of female lives at large, and one that is often hidden and many people are ashamed or unknowledgeable about. 
 
She wanted to open a sensitive yet important discussion about how we connect to our body. Boldly and proudly celebrating the creative live power of this part of our bodies as a gateway we ALL come from, with an ongoing series of eco-feminist artworks.
