About the event
You are invited for an evening of immersing yourself in a dreamworld through spoken word and other performances.
Our 3 performances include that of Innercourse (supported by Sheyma), Nadia Innocentia and Max Taylor. Full description of what to expect below.Â
Innercourse Spoken Word:
The spoken word performance by Innercourse will share four of her dreams relating to the darker themes within the psyche. By remembering, writing down, and sharing her dreams with others, She brings the symbols, messages, and mystery to the light of our common awareness. Following a Jungian approach of dream amplification, together we tap into the collective wisdom of our ancestral cultures, myths, fairy tales and folklore and explore if these symbols touch something deeper within the audience. Â
As Clarissa Pinkola Estes writes, "Ancient dissectionists spoke of the auditory nerve being divided into three or more pathways deep in the brain. They surmised that the ear was meant, therefore, to hear at three different levels. One pathway was said to hear the mundane conversations of the world. A second pathway apprehended learning and art. And the third pathway existed so the soul itself might hear guidance and gain knowledge while here on earth".
During the performance we listen for our souls and not our minds. We give and hold space for the mystery to arise instead of trying to analyze the dreams’ definitive meaning.
The performance is supported by the touching vocals of Sheyma to connect us even deeper to the hidden parts of our minds and hearts. After sharing the dreams, there will be time for questions from the audience about the dreams themselves or the dreamwork process.
Nadia Innocentia Performance:
A new seed from which the great creation of the dream work shall be born. Join the manifold stories of the world’s dream- myths with interactive elements. Describing the beginning of the consciousness and life, of the dreamworld and humanity. The different cycles established the different dream states, followed by a pause for rest or an end that enables a new beginning.
Max Taylor Spoken Word:
Max will discuss our ability to solve problems in the transition from sleep to wakefulness in a pattern known as hypnagogia, and how creatives and inventors have harnessed this transition to capture the computational power of the subconscious. He will share two poetic parables, illuminating how dreams have led him to solve two great problems within his life and convince you to always sleep with a notepad.
