Femme Flair Exhibition Opening

Join us for the opening night of our Femme Flair Exhibition showing the works of Emmy-Koos Meijer and Anastasia Gangaev. There will be music, drinks and a good time meeting more people who are into this creative community!

Playing with feminity in different ways through their art expression, this curation brings a beautiful mix of soft lines and textured flow. 

Emmy-Koos Meijer is a multi-disciplinary artist, with intimacy in the heart of all her work. Her paintings combine blocks of color with simple lines, meandering the edge between abstract art and nudes to portray certain moods and feelings. Her recent use of materials is messier, slathering acrylics thicker onto the canvas, or letting them drip and run, drawing pastel lines faster, more freely. Because life and the body are wild, and hopefully free. An ode to the body; her wisdom, needs and desires, her greatness, her mess. And the total experience of the body as an animal, scorekeeper, portal, instrument, and blessing.

Anastasia Gangaev is a scientist who serendipitously discovered the healing power of art as she navigated the challenges of hearing loss and depression during her PhD in 2021. In essence, her journey echoes Thoreau's timeless wisdom: ‘Not until we are lost do we begin to find ourselves.’ Anastasia channels her creativity into abstract art, employing layers of acrylic paint that mirror her meditative and intuitive creative process. What began as a creative form of self-therapy organically evolved into an inspiring journey of self discovery. Over the past year, Anastasia courageously shared her artistic creations through exhibitions—a testament to the transformative power of art and a reminder that the path to profound self-discovery often winds through the landscapes of losing oneself.
